I have hung a lot of things on my keychain.

At first, it was the kind of plastic, light, and the pattern was printed fancy, but it did not take long for the corners to peel. A small pine tree with dark green thread embroidered on the beige cloth was simple and not expensive, so I added it to the shopping cart casually. When I opened the package, my first reaction was: this thing is so light that I can hardly feel the weight. I even doubted whether it would be too thin to last long. I really noticed it when I waited for the bus. There were a lot of things that day. My mind kept spinning. I stood up and unconsciously reached into my pocket to touch the keychain. When I touched the embroidered pine tree, my fingertips stroked the embroidery line, and a very fine sense of friction came over. It was not smooth, but the regular bulge that came out stitch by stitch. I didn’t deliberately rub it. I just put my fingers on it and stroked it back and forth a few times, and then found that I didn’t seem to be so irritable.

I just realized that those metal and plastic keychains have been used for so many years, and I never thought of touching them. But this cloth is made, and I have developed this habit unconsciously.

I didn’t think the sound of the keychain was a problem before, but after changing the embroidery, I realized that it could be so quiet.

In the past, when I used metal keychains, it would make a sound when I shook my hand when I walked, and when I took it out of my bag. When I went home at night and opened the door, the string of jingles would be particularly harsh in the corridor. Once I worked overtime until late, I opened the door lightly for fear of disturbing the neighbors. As a result, the keychain hit the door panel with a “bang”, and I was shocked myself.

There is no need to worry about these at all now. The cloth collided with the metal, which was stuffy, and there was almost no sound. And because it is soft, there is no need to worry about scratching in the same pocket as the mobile phone or headphone compartment. In the past, I had to put the key in a separate pocket on purpose, but now I just need to put it in.

Just wash it when it’s dirty. It’s not as delicate as I thought.

I was really a little careful when I first bought it. After all, it was made of cloth, so I was afraid of getting wet and getting dirty. As a result, coffee was spilled on the bag once, and the keychain was also affected, and there was a dark stain on the embroidered surface.

I thought it was over at that time. I’m afraid this thing is useless. I took the household wet wipes and wiped them a few times. The stain faded a little but there were still marks. I just took it under the faucet and rinsed it. Then I gently rubbed the embroidery surface with hand sanitizer. After rinsing it, I dried it all night. The next morning, I took a look at it. The color was restored, and the embroidery thread was not loose or deformed, just like a new one.

After that, I was completely relieved. Put it in your pocket casually and squeeze it with coins, nail clippers and keys. It has been more than half a year now, and the corners have not been hairy, and the embroidery thread is still tight. On the contrary, the paint surface of the metal buckle before has long been worn out, and I don’t know where it has been thrown.

After using it by myself, one of my friend’s birthdays, I thought about customizing one for her.

At that time, she had just changed to a new job in a new city, and she was nervous. During the video chat, she said that she didn’t want to move when she went back to the rental house after work every day. I wanted to give her something practical, so I found a small shop for embroidery customization and picked a pattern of the word “take your time”. The gray-green thread was embroidered on the beige base cloth, which was simple and had no fancy decoration.

I didn’t think much about it after sending it. It was just a small gift. As a result, she took a photo and sent it to me after receiving it, saying that it was hanging on the commuting bag. The pattern is not too complicated. Embroidery is made by needles, and too thin lines can’t be embroidered. I tried a picture with a lot of details before, and it was made into a ball. Later, it was much better to change to the one with simple lines and clear color blocks. If it’s text, it’s better to have a thicker stroke. If it’s thin, it’s easy to deform.

The thickness of the base cloth should be clear. If the thin one is hung for a period of time, the corners will curl up, and the soft collapse is not good-looking. The thick one is much tighter, looks stylish from the side, and it is not easy to wrinkle.

The other one is the lock edge. If the edge is not treated, it may slowly burst after a long time. Although it does not affect the front pattern, it is uncomfortable to look at. Ask one more question before placing an order. It takes half a minute to save trouble later.

Now the little pine tree is still hanging on my keychain. The color is a little older than when I first bought it, and the embroidery is not as fluffy as it was at the beginning, but it is easier to touch, like an old fabric that has been polished by hand many times. The edge is slightly hairy, but the whole is still very complete.

Sometimes when I go downstairs after work at night, I will touch it before taking out the key. It is soft and warm. It stays in my pocket all day, with a little body temperature. I can’t say how expensive it is, but it is true that after changing so many pendants on my keychain, it is the only thing that I not only don’t want to change it after using it for a long time, but I get used to it more and more. If it really breaks down one day, I should buy another one of the same model immediately.
